Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 HS/ IXUS 220 HS overview

Picture
The Canon Powershot ELPH 300 HS/ IXUS 220 HS is a really good ultra-compact point & shoot camera. This is used by most of YouTube as a vlogging camera but can have his way into type of shooting that requires full 1080p HD. It has a sleek look and is the thinnest 24mm wide angle lens camera but is really rugged in a way and can withstand some amount of punishment. It has a 12.1MP CMOS sensor and combines it with auto-focus and optical image stablization. An overall really good camera for pictures and videos both. And zoom into your shoots with 5x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom.

Steven Paul Jobs(Steve Jobs) resigns as the CEO of Apple

Picture
As a lot of you might know, Steve Job had resgined as the CEO of Apple leaving behind this letter-To the Apple Board of Directors and the Apple Community:

I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.

Steve

Is YouTube ready yet??

Picture
Youtube seems to be generating many new "BETA" features in the past couple of months but is it ready?
Every now and then don't we feel the player on YouTube could be more responsive or that maybe they make some type of less bandwidth consuming streaming system.
YouTube seems to be going in every direction that we do not primarily need. It released Cosmic Panda which many people use but has fault and even when reported using the feedback option is not rectified. YouTube has a full section of all new under-development features but is it worth spending the time. For such features visit http://www.youtube.com/testtube

HP kills HP TouchPad

Picture
HP announced yesterday that they would discontinue the TouchPad. That's not what just happened, following the announcement, Amazon.com sold the Touch Pad for $99.
It is a shame for Hp as they had been so confident about destroying the iPad. The mere existence of the Web OS might diminish like this. It's that the consumers can't think of a third option after the iPad and Android. People seem to be mixing the the concept of a tablet and that of an iPad. They thinkl its the same.

Google buys Motorola Mobility for 12.5 billion dollars!!

Picture
Motorola mobility to start with is just the handset part of the company and is not the whole company.
It is now a question if the nexus series that has once been from HTC and now currently from Samsung, will be discountinued to be made from different manufacturers?
It very well looks like Google bought the part of the company for the purpose of manufacturing there stock Android smartphones which get the Google software updates earlier than the other devices.

This does not mean that companies like HTC and Samsung will no longer have Android smartphones. Google made it clear that they will keep Android an open software.

Google+ gets games

Picture

Google+ is open to all......

Well now with this done.... I hope there would a big downfall in Facebook or maybe that Google will be disappointed.

What is now of my interests are the fact that even though it is currently open to all, there is still the concept of field trial users, i.e, since Google + is still not fully mature to release all features that are possible, it has a bunch of people who would first test the beta stuff.

The best example for now would be games.....Yes, you heard me right, just like Facebook has that addictive FarmVille, Google+ will have something.

Currently, this feature is only available to the field trial users and thus maybe you can't use it..... But don't worry, Google will launch it to the WILD!!!

YouTube: Cosmic Panda

Picture
YouTube released a great skin for the site called Cosmic Panda in the beginning of July and is fully accessible to anyone who wishes to try it. It can be got from the following link: http://www.youtube.com/cosmicpanda
WHAT'S GOOD:
  • Great new theme and look to the plain YouTube one is used to.
  • View viDeos in different sizes without necessarily changing the streaming resolution.
  • View the owner's channel while the video minimizes to a small tile in the corner of the screen
  • Better channel layout in different styles like Bogger, Network etc.
WHAT'S NOT:
  • Everyone with a old channel background finds it distorted in the background.
  • When viewing the owner's channel, the tile with the ongoing video cannot be closed due to beta faults and glitches.
  • Not always responsive and sometimes interferes with the video upload.

Facebook Messenger

Picture
Facebook recently launched its Messenger app for iOS and Android.
What is different is only the option to share location or photo.
Facebook hasn't yet released it to everyone and also says that a BlackBerry app is soon to join.
Will the kill SMS??? 750 million users online versus SMS.......... Don't kill it man!!! Its been there for decades and the fact that data and the concept of smartphones isn't everywhere but every Tom-Dick-Harry knows how to text!

iPhone 4 is the King of the Skies

Picture
According to Go-Go Wireless, 2/3rd of its in-flight Wi-Fi is used by iPhone 4s. It also adds to it that 20% are iPods also.
This is a remarkable check-point, and is also a warning for Google to brace up
Android.

Is Google rushing the launch of Android 2.4 a.k.a Ice Cream Sandwich?

Picture
There are rumours that Google might be rushing to complete its new Android OS 2.4, i.e, Ice  Cream Sandwich.
WHY???
Well everybody including Google is scared of Apple, especially there iPhone. With everybody's hopes high of the release of the iPhone 5 this september in the US, Google is doing this for stratergy.
iOS 5 is awesome in simple words, so Google needs to brace up, but will rushing the OS and risking some potential flaws a better stratergy????
